Family Home Evening

I have a strong testimony of Family Home Evening. Kevin and I decided years ago to have regular FHE with our children. Over the years it has evolved into a pretty routine thing. Our kids make sure we have it now. We have found that it helps to have a monthly outline so we aren't trying to decide Monday evening what we will be doing. For us it works to pretty much do the following: 1st Monday; Journals and/or missionary letters. 2nd Monday; lesson by whoevers month it is. (We are each in charge of 2 months a year) 3rd Monday; Out to eat. (To practice trying new foods and using restaurant manners) 4th Monday; Activity or game night. 5th Monday; lesson again.

This is subject to change, but when there isn't a specific reason to change it we pretty much follow this schedule. It works well for us.

This week, we were out of order because of the holiday and decided to go out to eat since we hadn't yet this month. We ended up having our friends the Daniels and Crimans come and since the Crimans were going to Cabelas we joined them after dinner. I took my camara and got some snaps at Cabelas. Happy Family Night.

I'm a GREAT aunt!

We're happy to welcome Ethan Plumb to our family. Our niece Morgan and her husband Allen were blessed with this little cutie on December 22nd.

Ethan is a beautiful baby as you can see. Here are his cousins Amberly and Michael loving on him.

Janna and Jeffrey think he's kind of cute too.

What a good looking great grandma. Uncle Nini even thought we should keep him.

I love enjoying the new babies and then letting his mom and dad get up with him in the night.

Amberly and Ethan's aunt Jessie enjoy the new arrival. We're so glad you're here Ethan.

White Elephants and Food

We had our annual white elephant party with our friends on Sunday the 22nd. We have a new family joining us, the Williams that add even more fun to our party. We had great food and a lot of fun opening white elephant gifts. The hits were the Old Fashioned Candy and the golf ball retriever.

Hurst Family Christmas Party

Well it took me awhile because of technical difficulties, but here are some pictures from our Hurst family Christmas party from Sunday. Here is our family with a slight modification. I look young to be a grandma huh? Cammie was a mommy for the week-end to this mechanical baby. I think she'll be a great mom someday, but am glad she wants to wait a while.
Kevin's parents: Sue and Leon threw a great party. Thanks for putting it together. It's a lot of work, but fun to be together.

I just had to take a picture of our yummy dessert.
The twin boys who made it all possible: Leon and Leonard.

The happy couple. I love this guy.

Linda and Brad: Kevin's cousin and his wife.

Mickey and Janet: Linda and Brad's daughters.

Kendra, Jessie and Amberly

Cute Nathan: He's available girls and a great catch.

Some serious conversation between Michael and Kevin.
