We had a great Hurst reunion this week in Idaho. Kevin's sister Terri and her husband Roger rented a cabin just outside Tetonia. It was so fun to get together with family we haven't seen for years and reconnect with them. We really appreciate your efforts Turners.
As we drove up to the cabin, we were following Roger and he stopped suddenly in the middle of the road. We couldn't figure out what he was looking at at first, but suddenly Kevin saw this beautiful Bald Eagle sitting on a phone pole.
On Tuesday we all headed to Yellowstone. Jacob's wife Nia is from Tonga and so she really wanted to see a bear. We gently explained that in all the times we've been to Yellowstone we've never seen a bear and not to feel disappointed so when we came to stopped traffic she yelled STOP and leaped out of the car because there was a brown bear lumbering through some trees not many feet from the road. Kevin got some great shots. He was really excited too because he had never seen a bear before.
Of course we stopped at Old Faithful. It went off right as some of us walked up so we unpacked our food and waited for the next round. It didn't disappoint us. We also stopped at the Upper and Lower Falls by Artist Pointe and were awed by their beauty-until it started to rain and blow and we ran for the cars.
A trip to Yellowstone isn't complete without being in a Buffalo traffic jam. We saw a huge herd with some real impressive specimens on the East side of the Lower Loop.
I'm always amazed at how fearless the deer are. They seem to know they're protected.

Probably the best thing we saw on this trip was THE BABIES. It was so fun to play with the two great grand sons. Ethan is 7 months and Villi is almost 4 months. Ethan rode in our car and was a fabulous traveler. We're so glad the next generation is coming to the Hurst family. Hope it's a little while before we add a contribution.
