Young Women's Conference

Our stake had amazing tickets to the YW conference last night. President Monson, President Uchdorf and President Eyring walked right by us about 30 feet away. It was amazing to be so close to God's prophet. I can't wait for conference next week to hear all their counsel from Heavenly Father. We Thank Thee O God for a Prophet. It was especially wonderful to be there with my three daughters all at the same time. Who knows when we'll be able to do something together like that again? Amberly starts college in the fall and life will change a lot after that. I hope when my daughters are adults they will be friends and enjoy getting together like I do with my sisters. Sisters are a gift from God.

Manila Art Festival

We had the Manila Elementary Art Festival on friday. Cammie and her two friends, Hailey and Kendall have been working hard for weeks to make headbands to sell. They did fairly well, selling about $80 worth. Unfortunately Frances' aprons didn't sell this year either. Lots of people looked, but didn't buy. I think the $1-$5 dollar range is best for this venue.

Cozumel Day Five

Woke up this morning and thought, what do I want to do today? Then I remembered I'm in COZUMEL I'm going to go diving baby. We dove on the Dive Cat with two groups of divers. One the first dive our group was very small just 4 of us plus the dive master. We did the giant step off the back of the boat and as soon as I hit the water I felt my weight belt slid right through my fingers and sink to the bottom. So I got back in the boat and Nector the Dive master took everyone else down and found my weight belt and sent it back up with is little air bouy. Once I got my weight belt the guys on the boat told me were my dive group was and sent me down. They had about a 5 to 10 minute head start on me. It turns out that if I give Scott a 5 to 10 minute head start we can finish the dive with the same amount of air. The other guy we dove with ran out of air even faster than I would have. It was a great wall dive with lots of swim through.
The second dive as the shallow dive. I tried to stay about 10 feet above Scott and we both had the same amount of air.
Talk to Scott and we are going to make this an annual or by-annual guy trip so Jeffery if you read this BLOG start saving your money and I will bring you and Scott can bring Mike and maybe Roger will bring Aaron boy.
Well that's about it for the trip only thing left is to wait until tomorrow to come home.

Cozumel Day Four

Today is Sunday. I went on LDS.ORG and found the location of the LDS church here is Cozumel. They have two wards. I went to the 9:am meeting. I did not understand anything except I recognized the songs. We sang number 40 and number 57 or 58 and number 138. Maybe Rae can look them up in her Spanish Hyms book. Scott was still out diving when I got back to the Hotel so I did and shore dive or two while I waited for him. He said he dove with a large group and it was just an OK dive.
After lunch I did an other shore dive and them we just got back from a wonderful night dive to Paradise Reed. We saw 4 octopus (ok I only saw 2 of them) a few lobster and lots of crabs. We had so much fun Scott and I went and did a shore night dive. We saw an Eel and some crabs and then the water turned cloudy and we left. On the way back to the dock Scott saw a baby octopus about the size of a half dollar but when he took his eye off of it to get my attention it was gone.
Well it way past time to eat dinner so that's it for today.

Cozumel Day Three

Well I had to call Rae and tell here how bad the diving was today!!! We got on the boat around 8:30am. It was a little choppy and a little cold (about 75) The dive group was smaller so they put us all on one boat. After about 30 minutes a pod of about 6 dolphins appeared in front of the boat and road the bow wave for about 10 minutes. It is never a good sign when dolphins are that playful (it was so cool).
Today we dove Colombia deep. The dive was great. The swim-through went on for ever. We saw at least four turtles. It was one of my favorite dives. We went down to about 85 feet and I stayed down for 35 minutes. Scott is still beating me on air. Think I am going to give him the camera and just work on my air.
The second dive was at Colombia Shallows. This is the place were Rae, Jen, Bill and myself went snorkeling and saw the divers. It was a great place to dive. The max depth was 34 feet and I stayed down for 1:10 it was very cool. We saw an Eagle Ray, Scott found a nurse shark, we saw a school of barracuda that were about 6 to 8" long. We saw several turtles and just a ton of fish. Today has been one of my favorite all time dive days. My favorite was diving with RaeAnn and seeing the massive turtle, the night dive with RaeAnn and my very first dive in Tahiti. After all of those comes this one.
The night dive tonight was canceled so we are going to do a shore dive tonight.

Cozumel Day Two

Well here it is day two all ready. Got up this morning and did two boat dives. Both dives were to 56 feet. We were diving with a new person so they kept it shallow. That was fine with me. More fish to see and I can stay down longer. First dive was for 41 minutes I was still the first one to run out of air. The second dive I worked on my breathing and stayed down for 48 minutes.
We saw a lot of cool stuff on the first dive, several nurse sharks, lobster, maybe a seahorse or two. They were these tiny little things I hope the photos turn out. The dive master called them "Pipe Seahorses" Also saw a massive Moray Eel in a swim-through.
The second dive was also great we did not see anything out of the ordinary just lots and lots of fish.
After lunch we signed up to do a wreck dive. We left about 3:00 for the wreck dive. The water was real choppy. I asked for a larger tank so I would not run out of air so fast. "I STILL DID" Real going to work on my breathing tomorrow. The wreck was pretty cool. We went inside starting at the bottom and made our way up to the top. They have cut big holes all over inside so it was pretty light and you knew you could get out easy if you needed to.
I walked down to the market that we went to with Bill and Jen to see if I could find a Card Reader so I could upload some photos. You can buy anything at the market from food to clothes to tires. You can even buy a new camera but you can not buy a Card Reader. Sorry Rae you are just going to have to wait until I get back. Well it's almost time for dinner so that is it for today. More to follow.

Kevin is in Cozumel

Day ONE:
So here I am in Cozumel at the Scuba Club Cozumel Resort. Rae wanted me to BLOG everyday and upload photos of everything I see and do. So here is the Blow by Blow. Got up this morning at 3:30am so I could be on the road by 4:00am. Got to the airport around 5:00am and got checked in. Scott meet me at check-in. By the time we got through security it was pretty much time to get on the plane.
Had to wait on the plane while they de-iced the wings and then we were on our way to Dallas. We got to Dallas around 10:00am and the plane for Cozumel left at 10:30. Ate as much as I could as fast as I could and then got on the plane to Cozumel.
Finally made it to the hotel around 2:00pm. The hotel is nice our room has two twin beds and a view of the ocean for the balcony. The room is pretty basic. No phone, no TV just a place to sleep while you are not diving.
After some Tacos for lunch we went and got checked in with the dive shop. Got all signed up for a two tank boat dive tomorrow. We also went shore diving. The max depth was 22 feet and the water temp was 81. I had about 2,500 lbs of air and sucked through it in about 30 minutes. Ended the dive with about 500 lbs. We saw a lot of fish, some lobsters, a few eels it was great. We had so much fun we went and got two new tanks and did it again. The second time I did much better with my air. Started with 3,000lbs dove for 50 minutes and still had 1,000 lbs left. The second dive was at dusk and the shrimp and craps were just starting to come out. It was alot of fun.
So here I am in the hotel room hooking up the camera to the computer and I get a USB Device not recognized error. Sorry Rae no photo's. I did not bring my card reader. I will try and post everyday and let you know what is going on. Sorry there is no photo's. It will give you something to look forward to when I get home.

Well it's time to go to the Mexican Beach Party.
