Happy 21st Anniversary

April 23rd is our anniversary. This year we tagged along with Kevin's boss' family and their friends as they finished their scuba certification out at Blue Lake near Wendover. Not the greatest week-end weather wise to be diving, but as I told our friend Nathan, crappy diving is better than no diving and I totally mean that. I only have a shorty wet suit and the weather was very windy, rainy and cold with a little snowy slush thrown in for good measure, but once you hiked the third of a mile (with all your scuba gear on) and jumped in the lake....AHHHHH! Life was good.

Kevin and RaeAnn paying the chilly price to go scuba diving.

David (Kevin's boss) and his wife Linda gearing up.

The visibility was really bad. About 2-3 feet. If you didn't have a rope to follow you wouldn't have been able to find anything to look at. By following ropes that run along the different platforms and artifacts that have been sunk, you could find stuff to look at if you got real close.

Divers say if you go on a clear day you can see lots of fish and things that have been sunk in the lake. All we saw were a couple of fish, a sunk ski boat, the realty sign and stuff I couldn't identify.

RaeAnn loving to scuba.

Kevin loving to scuba.

David and his family love to go splunking (caving). They invited us to tag along as they explored a new cave about 1 1/2 hours from Blue Lake called Goshute Cave. It was quite a hike to get to it, but once we did it was really worth it.

Matthew, David, Linda and Jonathan Arnold kindly let us join their caving adventure.

Here we are at a formation called the Liberty Bell. When you can see the whole thing it really does look like a bell.

We decided that lots of the formations looked like coral so we figured we were just extending our diving experience.

I guess that doesn't explain the bats we saw sleeping on the ceiling.

These cool formations were made from bubbles that were calcified.

This is a growing formation. There were quite a few that were being formed as we hiked through the different caves.

Kevin and RaeAnn posing in the cave.

Hey we finally got a good pose from Kevin. Thanks so much to the Arnold family that let us tag along with them this week-end. We really enjoyed the diving, caving and the company. Kevin and I think we will try and dive somewhere every year for our anniversary. We both love it and hope to dive together for many years to come.

Wow! You guys are brave. I don't think I could do the scuba thing. Looks like it was fun though! I love the pictures from your cruise too! I hope to go on one someday.
