Busy Weekend

This past weekend was a busy one, but a good one too. It started Friday with Manila's 1st annual Mini-Marathon fund raiser. It was a great success. The course was 2.62 miles and we had about 500 runners. The students entered a shirt design contest and the winner's design was put on the shirts.
Here is the great 1st grade team that I get to work with this year.

Here I am finishing the race in 27:00 minutes. Not too bad.
Then I rushed home to get ready to go to Heber Valley Camp for the annual Horsley Reunion. It was so beautiful and so much fun to be with my family.

Hanging out around camp.

Doing the zipline.

Sunday we headed to Kevin's parent's house to celebrate the multitude of September birthdays. It was a great way to finish a weekend filled with family. I love our families.

Not a Fan

Kevin's not a fan, but I quite like this flower ring I found at Taylor Drug today. What do you think?

Birthdays and Dorms

Nineteen-years-old. I can hardly believe my little baby is 19 and headed to college. We celebrated Amberly's birthday by driving to Idaho to take her to BYU-I. I'm so excited for her to have this wonderful stage in life. I know it was such a happy, exciting time for me and I'm so glad she gets to experience college life.

The birthday girls.

The girl and the dorm room.

One last family out to eat dinner.

"No Jeffrey! You can't have Amberly's room!"

Pretty chilly for Labor Day.

Everyone keeps asking if I was sad to be leaving Amberly in Idaho. I was mostly just excited for her. She is very prepared and ready for this stage in her life. It doesn't hurt that the spirit has told Kevin, Amberly and me that this is the right thing for her. The fact that she has 3 cousins in Rexburg, lots of good friends in Rexburg and an aunt and uncle who adore her an hour away in Pocatello doesn't hurt either. Enjoy college Amberly! It's a wonderful time of life.
